SCRIP
Earn money for PJA just by spending the money you were going to spend anyway!

We have significantly expanded the scrip program at PJA to offer you MANY more choices! Please read the following information and be sure to PLACE YOU ORDER!

WHAT IS SCRIP? Scrip is actually 3 different things: gift certificates, gift cards, and traditional scrip, which is "money" good only at a specific store. You buy the scrip at its face value so there is no extra money out of your pocket!

HOW DOES IT WORK? The scrip center purchases huge quantities of scrip from companies at a discounted rate and then sells the scrip to non-profit organizations (like Portland Jewish Academy) also at a discounted rate. You buy the scrip at face value and PJA keeps the difference. On the order form, you will see a percentage listed after each business. This is the amount PJA will get. Let's say you decide to purchase five $10 certificates to Old Spaghetti Factory. On the order form you will see "8%" listed - this means there is a 8% discount on these certificates. So:
5 x $10 = $50 x 0.08 = $4
You will raise $4 for PJA with this purchase!

WHERE DO I BUY SCRIP?
Come visit the scrip table every Friday morning from 7:45-9:00 in the PJA lobby; coffee's on us! Most of the time you will be able to purchase your scrip on the spot. Occasionally, we will need to order something for you, in which case, it will be ready for pick-up the following week.  You may also print a scrip order form and drop it and payment in Rosanne Levi's box in the PJA office. HOW DO I PAY FOR MY SCRIP?
You may pay for scrip with cash, check (made out to PJA), or credit card. If you wish to pay with a credit card we ask that your purchase be over $200 because of the processing fee incurred.
