Kidzone's Mission
Our programs are dedicated to the care, education, and development of children and youth during their out of school time. We emphasize life skills through community service and enrichment-based programming.

The Kidzone's Philosophy
Enrichment-based programming
Kidzone follows a philosophy of teaching developed by the National AfterSchool Association (NAA), “The goal or mission of the after school program is to provide a balance of activities in the day of the child whose time in an enrichment setting extends after school hours.”

*To learn more about the philosophy of teaching developed by the National Afterschool Association, (NAA), please visit their website at www.naaweb.org

At Kidzone, we wish to create an atmosphere where children can socialize, prosper, learn and enjoy themselves. Children who are left home alone are at a greater risk of becoming involved in dangerous behavior during their adolescence. It is with that knowledge that the Kidzone program aims to arm children with the self-esteem and knowledge they need, to empower in hopes of avoiding these dangerous behaviors. At Kidzone we strive to reach this goal by creating an environment where children feel safe, important and nurtured.

Child-friendly environment.
At Kidzone we create an atmosphere where children socialize, prosper, learn and enjoy themselves. We provide all types of sports equipment for physical play, inside and outside. A place where children can have fun, learn, and relax from the stresses of their school day and still continue to be stimulated about the world around them and how it works.

Parent involvement
We create a partnership between parents and teachers for the benefit of every child, and promote and encourage daily communication. Our doors are open to parents at all times and we welcome families to drop in and observe, have snack, or just hang out with their child.

Dedicated and caring staff
We believe the strength of the Kidzone program is in the dedication of our teaching staff. We support our teachers with training, resources, and freedom to create a unique learning experience for the children. We also provide many opportunities for teachers to share ideas and grow professionally.

Healthy and Nutritious Snacks
We are committed to serving food that is both appealing to children and supportive of their growth and development. Snack is a pleasant occasion with lots of opportunities for social interaction and learning. We follow strict nutritional guidelines for school-age children established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, (USDA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children, (NAEYC), and the National Afterschool Association, (NAA).

Typical Kidzone snacks include 100% juice, fruit or vegetables, a dairy option: generally cheese, milk or yogurt, and a grains portion of crackers, pasta or other breads.

Kidzone Kindergarten Programs
A positive kindergarten experience can pave the way for your child's success as he or she proceeds through school. We offer a kindergarten curriculum that respects children. The program also helps to promote independence and self-confidence.

The Kindergarten program may include: social and empathy skills in a child-centered environment, creative art and theater games, language experiences, reading lessons, large motor and fine motor play times, music and story times and mathematics foundation skills.

AM Kindergarten Care – 8AM-11:40AM
PM Kindergarten Care – 10:30AM-2:00PM
The Kidzone Environment
We encourage children to become responsible, self-confident, independent, active explorers and enthusiastic learners by stressing the process of learning and discovery through developmentally as well as age-appropriate activities that meet their interests. The activities and environment at Kidspace are specially structured to address the interests and development levels of children in Kindergarten through 5th grade by offering:

  • Unique daily projects
  • Creative monthly themes
  • Well-equipped indoor activity centers including:
arts & crafts center; drawing center; a science discovery center; a dramatic & imaginative play center; a board & table games center; and a building & construction center
  • Areas for reading and relaxing
  • Homework Center opportunity Monday-Thursdays, for 1+ hours
  • Large outdoor play area and daily Gym time
  • Daily use of both the Modular and Glencoe Playcourt
Enrichment activities may include opportunities for: arts and crafts, group games, homework center, science projects, cooking projects, language and culture study, community service, music, story time and indoor games.

Kidzone offers children a variety of daily choices for them to explore their own personal interests and a premier setting for learning to make good decisions, try out new skills and make new friends. Because the Kidzone program is based on choices and community service, children gain independence, have the freedom to learn more about what interests them, and develop into caring, responsible citizens of their community.
