Our Mission
To create, build, and maintain programs dedicated to the care, education and development
of children and youth during their out-of-school time. Emphasis is placed on promoting life
skills through community service and enrichment-based programming.
The Kidscorner Philosophy
Kidscorner follows a philosophy of teaching developed by the National AfterSchool Association (NAA).
Child-Friendly Environment
At Kidscorner we aim to create an atmosphere where children can socialize, learn and enjoy
themselves.
Parent Involvement
We create a partnership between parents and teachers for the benefit of every child. Our doors
are open to parents at all times. We welcome families to drop in and observe, have a snack, and
hang out with their children.
Dedicated And Caring Staff
The strength of our program is in the dedication of our teaching staff. Teachers are supported
with many training opportunities and resources to grow professionally and are given the freedom
to create unique learning experiences for the children.
Healthy and Nutritious Snacks
We are committed to serving food that is both appealing to children and supportive of their growth and development. Snack is a pleasant occasion with lots of opportunities for social interaction and learning. We follow strict nutritional guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, (USDA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children, (NAEYC), and the National Afterschool Association, (NAA).
A typical snack may include: 100% juice and/or water, fruits or vegetables, as well as crackers or breads. Often our children are treated with homemade snacks like, mini pizzas, banana bread, mac ’n cheese, and fresh biscuits.
Friday’s at Kidscorner, Shabbat is generally observed and the children are served Challah bread and 100% juice.
