Read about our Preschool Philosophy

ECLC's program provides the best practices of early childhood education, in a setting of Jewish awareness. ECLC serves children from two through five years. Our dedicated teachers foster a warm, joyful environment that supports creative exploration and physical and spiritual development.

Our goal is to foster every child's growth - in self-esteem, communication, creativity, independence, critical thinking and problem solving. Our curriculum has been thoughtfully designed to help children develop a lifetime moral framework and Jewish awareness, through richly textured learning experiences.

Skilled and deeply committed teachers
Each classroom has a team of c-teachers with demonstrated talent in working with young children. Many ECLC teachers have demonstrated their commitment to education and to PJA through years of service. ECLC teaching teams share their expertise and creativity to craft rich learning experiences. ECLC provides opportunities for teachers to refresh and expand their own learning as well, to broaden their skills.

Developmentally-appropriate framework and
small class sizes

We believe that children have a natural curiosity and desire to learn. With a low student- to-teacher ratio and small class sizes, our goal is to foster a caring community of learners. Our child-centered curriculum is multilayered and fosters exploration and critical thinking.

Great facility
Our sunny, well-supplied classrooms are designed especially for young children. Each classroom opens onto our preschool playground, with its covered play area, large sandbox, climbing structure, basketball hoops and trikes. Students have access to activities at the Mittleman Jewish Community Center, including a Sportsplex, outdoor areas and a kosher cafe.

Enrichment
ECLC's program has a rich variety of learning experiences including art, science, block constructions, manipulatives, books, cooking and dramatic and sensory play. Students participate in art, music and movement classes and Jewish studies taught by specialists.

Community
ECLC welcomes all children and their families. The ECLC community encompasses teachers, administrators and families and provides a supportive network of educational opportunities. ECLC students connect with the greater community through field trips and visits with the residents of Cedar Sinai Park.

Flexible Schedules & Options
Recognizing the differing needs of families we have planned a flexible program.
  • Classes: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
  • Late lunch: 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm (a daily option)
